Marco Cascella, MD, works in the Department of Supportive Care at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori, Fondazione ‘G. Pascale” – IRCCS, Naples, Italy, where he has responsibility for research in anesthesia and pain medicine. He was granted the National Scientific Habilitation (ASN) for Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care in Italian Universities and he is annual Professor of Physiology on the Degree Course in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques at the Faculty of Medicine, University ‘Federico II,” Naples. Dr. Cascella graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery in 1997 from the University ‘Vanvitelli” of Naples and then undertook postgraduate studies in anesthesia and intensive care, obtaining his doctorate in 2001. He acts as an editorial board member for several medical journals. He has been a speaker at numerous conferences and conventions and is the author of about 150 scientific publications, books, and book chapters in the fields of anesthesia, pathophysiology, treatment of pain, oncology, and palliative care. Dr. Cascella also heads and participates in various research projects.
